IP Address Lifecycle Management

Raising networks above the address tsunami

Enterprise, service provider, and blockchain networks are drowning in address complexity. Octet32 manages IP space at the block level — the way networks are actually built — with prevention-first conflict detection that stops problems before they reach the wire.

Address management is broken at the root

Most organizations manage IP addresses one at a time, reactively, in tools that were never designed for the scale and complexity of modern networks. The consequences show up as downtime, not tickets.

01

Conflicts discovered during outages

Duplicate or overlapping address allocations surface during routing failures, not before. By then the damage is done.

02

Lost address space

Allocated blocks that are never tracked, never reclaimed, and never reused quietly waste capacity that organizations pay for.

03

M&A integration nightmares

Merging two enterprise address spaces with no systematic block-level overlap detection means months of manual reconciliation.

04

IPv4 to IPv6 transition complexity

Managing dual-stack environments simultaneously requires tools designed for a single protocol to do the job of two.

05

Spreadsheet dependency

The de-facto standard for IPALM in most organizations — with no validation, no conflict prevention, and no hierarchy.

06

Security blind spots

Untracked addresses that appear in the network without audit trails create vulnerability surface that security teams cannot see.

Block-level management. Prevention first.

Octet32 acts as a Local Internet Registry within your environment — receiving upstream allocations and managing block delegation downward through your network hierarchy with correctness enforced at every step.

Aggregate tree visualization

A hierarchical view of your entire address space, organized by the topology that matches your organization — Region, Site, VLAN, host subnet — with utilization inline on every node.

Hard conflict prevention

Invalid allocations are rejected at input. No warnings that allow an operator to proceed with bad data. Correct by construction means the database never contains a conflict.

Auto-suggest next available subnet

Request a sub-block and the system finds the next available gap in the parent — filling holes before extending sequentially, with nibble-boundary alignment for IPv6.

Recursive utilization calculation

Utilization is calculated for any node in the tree — total addresses, allocated, available, and reserved — with /64 subnet counts as the primary metric for IPv6 planning.

IPv4 and IPv6 dual-stack native

Public, private, and ARIN-allocated address types managed in a single system. RFC 1918 boundaries enforced. Multiple routing domains supported with no cross-domain conflicts permitted.

Role-based access control

Scope, function, and block-size limits per user. A site admin can manage their subnet without touching regional allocations. Audit logging on every write.

A $2.4 billion market with no block-level platform

The DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management market is growing at 15% annually, driven by IoT proliferation, IPv6 transition, and M&A network integrations. Octet32 addresses the architectural gap that every existing vendor shares.

Enterprise

Mid-to-large enterprise IT

Multi-site networks, M&A integration, IPv6 transition programs, and compliance-driven address governance.

Service provider

MSPs and ISPs

Multi-tenant block delegation at scale. Each customer managed in an isolated address domain with full hierarchy.

Government

Federal and state agencies

Strict governance requirements, audit trail compliance, and address space recapture across complex agency networks.

Blockchain

Web3 and DeFi infrastructure

IPv6 multicast for distributed node networks. Quick-start templates for blockchain organizations implementing peer-to-peer addressing.

Smart city / IoT

Device-intensive networks

Device group management at scale. Regional hierarchy across municipal infrastructure with thousands of managed endpoints.

Built by practitioners, not observers

The founding team has spent decades in the infrastructure that Octet32 now manages. The authority behind the product comes from the engineers who helped build the modern IPv6 Internet.
